First of all, cryogenic semen tanks are filled with liquid nitrogen, not dry ice.

They look a lot like an old fashion milk jug. The semen is stored inside in 'straws'...not sure how many straws to a tank but a completely full tank of straws probably doesn't contain more than 1 cup of semen.

Not anywhere the big deal it's made out to be in that article.

I noticed. Maybe they volunteered so they can say that they had a male that was hung like a horse

Bull sperm is a valuable commodity. One container can be worth more than $100,000!

A related story:
COUDERSPORT, Pa. — Police in north-central Pennsylvania say they’ve solved the case of the missing bull semen.
Authorities in Sweden Township, near Coudersport, say a package containing 1,770 units of the valuable agricultural product was reported missing from a residence where it was to be delivered on April 2.
Police now tell the Bradford Era newspaper that it was never stolen. Rather, a UPS driver left the package at the home and then returned to retrieve it after realizing it shouldn’t have been delivered without someone signing for it.
Township police Chief Bryan Phelps says the package was in a UPS warehouse and has since been delivered.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- A Clark County woman accused of stealing more than $100,000 worth of bull sperm appeared in court on Tuesday.
Karen Saum pleaded not guilty to theft charges. Detectives said a tip led them to the stolen semen inside her garage.
According to police, the bull sperm was from Saum's former employer, Genetic Connection.

Many breeds of horses and cattle can be artificially bred but thoroughbred races horses must breed the old fashioned way. Cuts down on blood line fraud. This stuff is kind of funny to city slickers but it is big business out on the farm.

How long did it take to take these two photos? They're tortoises for DOG'S SAKE!!!!

As for the GH driver "...losing his load..." on the ramp...isn't that another example of "multitasking" while you're driving? He needs a ticket for that...

No joke.

Last February, we attended the 44 Farms annual 'Prime Cut' bull sale. 44 Farms is a big Angus establishment not too far from Berry Hill Farm. 44 has their own top notch auction facility and entertainment pavilion plus some fantastic pipe rail holding pens so that you can peruse the lots up for auction.

That fine day, good 'ol No.1...first boy through the chute, went for $60,000...which ONLY bought you 1/2 interest in the semen and no possession of the animal. He sold in less than 40 seconds. No.2 was the same deal. Less than a minute in the chute and he went for a paltry $30k.

There were some nice bulls there for more believable prices and you could take what you bought too.
