Now that's nice, I love the flat black I wonder if it has any radar absorption qualities?

Its like a stealth fighter, perfect for screaming down the road in a stealthy manner. I wonder if the PO installed brake light cut outs too?

Why do they cover up the motors in cars these days? I would much rather see that V12 than some plastic "AMG" cover.

Wait until the new owner has drop $2500 for a set of coils. Then again, if you can afford a six figure 3+ year old car, who cares!!!

$2,500 isn't much on a car like that. A brake job probably costs about that.

I agree, I hate opening a hood and seeing a bunch of black plastic boxes. My new car looks like this under the hood:



Still plasticy,but the only main areas that are covered up are the battery, fusebox, and intake box. Everything else is really easy to get to, and the valve cover is a true valve cover, not a 15-piece snap together myriad of cosmetics. Seems as though VW knows that about 75% of their GTIs are modified

lol, I have the cover for the supercharger pulley off. It looks pretty wicked when I pop the hood and its "bam - supercharger"

VW has those trademark spherical coolant containers. I used to see the one in my friend's jetta a lot.....since he was always adding coolant...

It is still drivable, even smashed up, so I am driving it.



As far as repairs go - I only carried liability coverage on my C, and that is all the coverages Geico is going to extend me for the temporary 30-day coverage.



I contacted the other insurance carrier, and informed them that I would take their settlement (the $5,000 minimum state coverage), and pay out of pocket to repair my car. Not the most ideal situation, but I get my car taken care of now - and do not need to wait for the courts, etc.

But - I did have a track day last weekend. I had a blast out there, as I did not have to worry about damaging my pristine car!


Got quite a few point bys from a few cars I thought I would not be able to catch up to/pass! Got quite a few thumbs up and compliments from other drivers at the track, which made my day.

The 2.5 and earlier 2.0T integrated the air filter box into the engine cover, so you can't just leave it off.

Not a big fan of the flat black. Bet it's a dirt magnet, and there are way too many Camaros around here in that color.
