That is absolutely correct. There are zillions of things outside the control of a company that can cause them to fail.

When it comes to Venture Capitol (sp?) it is the duty of the investor to do the research into the company, their industry and their market. This is where the gubment came up short.

I will defend the administration on one count. The press is making a big deal out of Kaiser being at the front of the line for getting his investment back. IF, and this is a big IF, Kaiser indeed put his money in last, then he is at the front of the line for getting his money first from the bankruptcy.

In Venture Investments the last money in, is first to get it out if there is anything to get. That's the way it typically works.

If everybody won't fund a company, shouldn't we also ask why? If every girl is afraid of John Smith, I would be leery of my daughter dating John.

especially when it is clear that at least one GOP Subcommittee member is intent on finding corruption.
Nor do the Dems. The are all guilty of foolishness. The only difference is that this is foolish one way, that is foolish the other way. You seem to hate the GOP brand but the Dem brand is bad but OK with you or at least that is the picture I have. IMO, they are both foolish and we should suffer as little of it as possible. I rather they stay out it altogether. Kinda like chemotherapy. I stay away from it if I can.

So what do you feel are the facts? IMO, the fact is govt went meddling where it should NOT have and cost us money. You can't even handle your responsibilities right. What makes me confident you can afford to meddle in matters beyond your level of complexity? Good luck only goes so far.

Your point being? That the Dems on that committee don't have a political axe to grind? Each side will have their own axe to grind because it benefits them. Or are you saying that one side's axe is better than the other?

Yes they do. First off, you have NO business in this. You have enough work of your own. Further to that, there were warning signs so why did you go thru with it? If I tell you that I am considering getting married to a girl that is a lying cheating woman with her ex and even done that during our courtship, would you say that marrying her is a good move? I hope not.

They can't even balance the budget EVEN WITH borrowing from Peter to pay Paul as the phrase goes, why do you expect them to do due diligence? Why would you take a course on "Ethical Trading" from Maddoff?

I had two points. First, when a GOP'er does something particularly transparent and foolish, I enjoy pointing it out. Second, if the worthless media decide that Solyndra is an actual scandal with real corruption, we should take what they say with a grain of salt. We know that there is at least one GOP subcommittee member pushing the story. If the story gets legs, I hope people will pay attention to the facts and not the hype.

All the evidence thus far points to the fact that the Bush administration was examining the financials of Solyndra, and as a result they did not decide to support Solyndra, after 20 January 2008 the Obama administration examined the financials of Solyndra through their own lens and decided to support Solyndra.

The financial circumstances of Solyndra where known to both administrations, one decided against giving them 528 million taxpayer dollars the other decided to give them 528 million taxpayer dollars. The investigation will hopefully illuminate the factors which contributed to these opposing conclusions. The investigating sub-committee has a representative number of Democrats and Republicans so the no viewpoint is unchallenged.

In the context of the dismal results of "Obamanomics" first trillion and the Dear Leaders newest demand for another half-trillion, the competence or lack thereof of the administrations decision making processes and outcomes are at issue.

Personally I'm delighted that this is happening now the way it is and it appears by all the polling data that a vast majority of the American electorate is also. I have said from the beginning "this Emperor has no clothes" and every day it is further revealed how naked he is.

Well liberals did all that during the last administration so we shouldn't expect any less of conservatives now I'll bet! NOT!

You meant to say 20 January 2009, I assume.

I should probably get more up to speed about the case before commenting, but I thought the matter was still under review at the end of the Bush administration. Had they decided to take a pass on the deal?

A classic situation where Congressional oversight should be applied.

That's true if the party controlling the subcommittee doesn't skew the process.

I think the facts say otherwise, but we shall see.

So when a Dem does it, because it is your party, that is ok? Perhaps that is the problem we are facing. If I support the GOP so they can burn an orphanage on X'mas night and it is ok. Let a Dem even sneeze and it is bad. If I support the Dems, anything they do is given a pass. GOP does anything similar and it is bad. So we all stick to our guns and nobody demands improvement except from the other side. Maybe that explains the sad state of affairs.

If they can use it to sell papers, why not do it? My business to sell news and not report facts for you to make up your mind. After all, as in your first point, your mind is made up already. You enjoy finding fault with the GOP. If I were to sell paper to you that points out Dem misdeeds, would you buy it? Probably not. If you are my core customer, I will filter all of it to show GOP misdeeds and gloss over any DEM misdeeds or you won't buy it. OTOH, to a Rush and Beck's fans, I will point out any DEM misdeeds and gloss over the GOP issues.

Who said: First, when a GOP'er does something particularly transparent and foolish, I enjoy pointing it out.

Obviously that prompts the question of whether you get equal pleasure out of DEM misdeeds. If not, isn't that biased?

Shouldn't we be NOT accepting idiocy out of each party? As long as you accept Dem naughty acts and keep hounding the GOP and the GOP supporters do the reverse, how does this sort of problem get fixed? You will always hound the GOP and the other guy will always hound the DEM. Either way, nobody will bother to do better since it doesn't matter. My supporters will support me thru thick and thin and keep lambasting the other side so what is my incentive to be better? I will never get your vote as long as I am a GOP guy and I cannot lose your vote as long as I fly the blue donkey flag. WHY SHOULD I GET BETTER?
