sjh what happens with you click on edit on the first post of a thread you start?

I just started a thread called "test" which you can delete if you wish. I have no access to any delete function, nor can I lock the thread. It seems as if some thread originator admin functions are missing.

In my first post, the [save][go advanced][cancel] buttons are there, but not [delete]. when I added a second post to that thread, the [delete] button was added to the roster, and I was able to delete the post.

At the first post when I hit edit I get the simple edit screen -

http://www.stinkbusters.net/1st.jpg

When I hit the advanced key I get this screen -

http://www.stinkbusters.net/2nd.jpg

Neither allows me to lock or delete the thread.

In your first image, the delete button is usually found between the save and go advanced buttons.

Yep. I know that.

I use to use it. :)

The current moderation is no different than the previous moderation................small minded individuals who insult others are banned.

It has happened before and it will certainly occur again because some people never change.

But moderators do!

Something new I guess.

sjh 09-25-2011 10:02 PM

So apparently we will no longer be able to lock a thread?

engatwork 09-25-2011 10:05 PM

That is what it looks like. I guess the new owners are doing some tweeking.

Hatterasguy 09-25-2011 10:45 PM

Yeah I just tried deleting one of my threads and it doesn't work anymore.

What gives? Sometimes its nice to delete your own thread.

Maybe it should be allowed. That way when a forum member decides to commit suicide by saying "I'm outta here and please delete all my posts", the mod or Admin can simply say "DIY". :D

Jim, I believe you can delete or lock your own thread if it falls within the 21 days of the OP.

I can either delete or lock my thread on the 2.47 diff on Tech without any issues.

Nearly one year later, I can still feel the glee all the way from the Cape.

Glad I can still create some enjoyment for you. Clearly you don't get it anywhere else.

elchivito 09-26-2011 12:45 AM

I sent a request recently to mods to have an old thread deleted. No problem. It was taken down.
