Unfortunately I think a lot of people are too lazy to wade through the data themselves. I'm not trying to dissuade anyone from looking through it, just that Americans are unbelievably lazy when it comes to stuff like this...one reason PP is not representative of the "average American" IMHO

I use it often. I don't know why anyone would use any other weather/climate source than NOAA. It's where all the data the others use is generated. Weather Channel, etc. is all second hand.
