![]() I have a 1991 300E. I am brand new to the MB world and want to make my driver fully functional. The Horn does not work but everything else on the fuse does. Ideas? Also I need to do some window work, the drivers window stops about 3/4 of an inch from the top. How do I get the door panel off w/o wrecking anything. Last but not least I would like to change the bulb in the center console for the gear indicator. I have NO idea how to get at it. I bought the MB E-Class Owners Bible, lots of great information but none of the above. In advance thank you for the help!

Your window problem is 95% likely to be a broken plastic "jaw" on the regulator. You can get secondhand regulators really cheap (I had the same problem, about 2" from the top but JB welded the jaw). There are tutorials on the DIY links section of the forum on how to remove the w124 door panels (need a few minutes to dig up the links and paste in here). Before taking the steering wheel apart I would check for continuity with a multimeter at the actual horn noisemaker (in front of the radiator) which will show you which is at fault.

Edit: here you go -- PeachPartsWiki: Removing the Rear Door Panel The front is generally the same procedure
