A perfect example of how naive and pi$$ ignorant the American public has become. Was it Einstein who said that insanity is repeating the same action and expecting a different results?

So the definition I quoted is invalid? Einstein wasn't exactly a dummy.

After this quote appeared in a film titled '28 Days' the search for the source of the quote has been ongoing. One thing is for sure: It does not appear anywhere in anything that Einstein wrote or is ever recorded as saying.
The first recorded source is from a book put out by the group Narcotics Anonymous. It was then used in 1983 in a book by author Rita Mae Brown. It has not been found in any publication printed before that date except for the NA book, and the author of that book is not credited. Einsttein did say: The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its' limits. |

Thanks for the clarification. You're right, the Einstein being quoted as saying it must have crept into pop culture. Even though it is a valid, slang definition, I guess someone thought it sounded better as an Einstein quote. I stand corrected.
