Framed copies...

I'm looking for full sized framed copies of the Constitution and Deceleration of Independence.

Any idea where I can get a set? I want full sized copies on parchment looking paper, not cheap knock offs. Must be US made.

I moved a few paintings around and now have some wall space, I think these would fill it in nicely.

I got some really nice ones, after seeing the real ones, in the National Archives gift shop. They weren't framed though- I had to do that myself.

That is what I was going to suggest. I imagine the gift store is online too.

Thumbs up

Check your local frame-shops...they always have samples of the work they do and for just a little bit of your time, you can bring the documents in and they would be more than happy to sit down and work up something very nice and within your budget-range.

We have a few "show posters" that we've had framed for our place...chrome, wood and just plain black plastic. Some have glass and the rest are covered with clear plexi-glass. Just across the hall and in sight from my office is a chrome-framed-glass-covered, Matt Groenig-autographed/dated "Simpsons" poster. Nice piece. And I believe it was under $75.00 to have it done...but then, this was back in '91. (Yep. It's that old...I think the poster was a "Welcome to FOX" gift when we became an affiliate.)

GL with the COTUS and DOI framing project...

Echoing 10fords and t walgamuth:

National Archives Store

There's a link to these sorts of documents right on their home page. I imagine those might be big sellers for them.

This was one of my stupid purchases of the month, but it looks beautiful framed on my wall and is very interesting to look at all the detail. Someone put a lot of time into it.

I'm filling my walls with demotivational posters. They make me laugh.
