T-day + 2

Celebrated on T day with my sibs and my mom. Ate a huge meal of food that could not be beat and brought home leftover pumpkin and mixed berry pie. Ate two kinds of pie with each meal til it is almost gone. Yesterday the Lovely Daughter #1 and her family came in. Today we are cooking the turkey and will be stuffing ourselves with the children and grandchildren.

The Mrs. makes a stuffing which uses apples, raisins, and celery and is very moist and yummy.

I will make a pie.

First I will make waffles for breakfast, a tradition whenever we have company for breakfast.

I am a very thankful man.

Thankful for so many things here as well.

Thing Two and her husband came up from San Antonio, SiL, my Mom and MiL are here too. Beautiful days Thursday and Friday...worked cattle yesterday, played with guns, ate leftovers.

Rain today and there was some earlier in the week too. My wheat and clover is sprouting and the place looks like it has a new green suit.

That sounds nice.

Yesterday I worked in the office for a while then worked with my Brother on the roof of my old downtown building. It was a lovely day, sixty some degrees. The work was physically challenging for a couple of old broken down men but the view on the sixth floor roof was stupendous and the weather was mild and lovely. We worked until we could not see and just finished up what we had to before we had to quit.

T day + 2

Wed we had a company lunch where all were to bring food from their native land (we have employees from 16 countries). Being 'mercan, I did the T.

Thurs had TG dinner with the wife's family Bro in Law/wife and relatives up from VA.

Fri evening I went to a wedding where we married off Diana, the last eligible cousin of the last generation. It will be at least 5 years before Cousin Victoria is of age (she is 14 going on 28 and a knockout).

Today I puttered around the house working on a few projects and surprised my better half with a new CD player recorder so she can dub all of the 1500 cassette tapes we have to CD's. (It took us close to 18 months to dub all the VCR tapes to DVD).

Saw my Nephew and Wife off to VA and my Niece and Husband as well. My Nephew will be done with his Active Duty Stateside in 2 weeks so life will be back to normal for him, wife and 18 month old son.

Spent some time with my Niece's husband, they wed last January, and really got to like him. He is a Texican of German heritige and has a dry wit that I have grown to like. He is a good addition to the family.

My other Nephew and wife could not come up, he was in the middle of a training cycle at Quantico for his new posting as a Fed. Maybe Christmas.

My Sister flew my 95 year old Dad down to FL for the holidays. I'm counting the days now, every time the phone rings my back tenses up hoping that this isn't "the call"...

The lovely daughter #2 announced her engagement today. She is recently divorced and has three little children from 2 to 5 years. Lovely children but a hand ful. Her groom to be is considered a good catch.

He also happens to drive a white Mercedes Diesel.
