The best part about my AMEX is that I fly for free every year to Scotland and back using the points $125.00 annual fee is nothing to pay for that I use all this money just siting in the executive lounges around the airports using the AMEX access and eating and drinking for FREE

It says on my American Express card "Member since 1988." I do not have any credit cards. The American Express is rather a Charge Card. I have always liked the fact that I had no choice except to pay it every month. This takes away the temptation to let it ride and pay interest.

It has also saved my bacon a number of times over the years including the time that I got ripped off on Ebay and another time when I bought my wife a new dryer and it fell of my truck on the way home.

It costs me $75 a year and it's darn well worth it. I travel very little these days, but it's still worth it to me. In the days when I was traveling enough to earn American Advantage Gold status every year, it was invaluable.

I expect it will serve you well.

Fulcrum,

I don't think it's a good idea to post this information on a public forum.

Good luck

Amex is really good with the customer service. I was double charged one time at a resturaunt, and had it settled with amex in one phone call. Done.

I only accumulate about 5k points a month, but I usually get a $500 home depot gift card every 8-10 months.

So what are you going to buy me with that $500 HD card?
