Least Favorite Auto Marque?

We've had tons of threads about drivers and their cars that we don't care for, but what about brands of cars that we flatly refuse to own?

Personally, I despise Volvos and Audis.

I drove a friend's XC70 about 500 feet before pulling over and giving back the reins. I don't know if it was the AWD or the turbo that rubbed me the wrong way, but I was not having any part of it.

A year later her dad bought her an A6 2.8, and while an exponentially nicer car than the XC70, I still couldn't get into it. The steering was so much more.. direct than the 560's somewhat vague or arbitrary handling.

I've never driven any Japanese car other than an Acura Legend running on 5 cylinders, so aside from the awful engine characteristics, I kinda enjoyed it.

I will never drive a smart car! IMO lexuses and newer infinitis are pretty boring... We had a qx4 (pathfinder) back in the day that we picked up used an that was an excellent suv...unfortunately they don't make Em like they used to

VW, I rather take a hammer to my hand or have a cavity drilled than own a VW product.

Audi is IMHO guilty by association, I have looked at them and they pull some of the same nonsense VW does.

I'm with TBO. I would NEVER drive a Smart car. I FOR SURE wouldn't drive one 180KPH on the autobahn like I saw them do in Germany.

Agreed. Didn't Saab also make a terrible suv/crossover?

I forgot all about Saab! Being part Swedish, you'd think I would have some kind of loyalty to one of the Svenska brands.

They had the one based on the Trailblazer. I wouldn't count Saab out...they had the 9-2 which was a rebadged Subie Impreza and the NG900s turbos in the 90s were pretty sweet and capable of huge power with mods.

The only VW my family has ever owned was a pretty good car; but it was a MkII Wolfsburg Edition Jetta with a stick.

If I were in the market for a new luxury car, it wouldn't go to a rebadged Passat, that's for sure.

Non-military spec Hummers - Those things are embarrassing.

My GTI is pretty awesome, its only got a couple things that I would change which is actually quite impressive due to my critical nature. I realize people have a lot of convictions about the brand but I decided to give them a second chance after our mk4 Jetta (which hasn't been too bad) and I'm glad I did. I always hear people bash VW with only hearsay and not actual experience. I don't know if you've had a bad experience with a VW, I am just speaking in general here.
