A good amount. Its a great engine but at higher miles if things fail it will cost alot. But who knows for all I know it could of been 100% the whole time. I am guessing that this car was a personal limo or company car of some sort. Sort of like in NYC where they have Lincolns with 300k on them running around.

I dont see a parts car, I see a V12 beater. Get it running, if it doesnt already, and have fun with it. If someone could get it for $500, it would be sweet!

If one can get it for $1,000 or so then its worth it to just drive it around. When something major fails then part it out.

Current bid on this car is $1,150 and they claim an actual value of $8,400 or so. I guess it runs. I don't see anywhere that they claim it will not. Perhaps it is one of the owners cars?

I think Copart adds a few hundred dollars on for fees of one type or another, but this is usually no big deal because most of what they sell is late model and goes for a lot more than this. In this case paperwork fees could add 20% to the cost.

It looks nice. The suggestion to buy it and drive it until it breaks and then part it out makes sense to me, but it will likely be another ten years before these reach the collector status that will drive the market for their used parts.

Why did I spend an hour last night shopping for V12s?

Oh noes.

The Jag V12 is an often maligned beast, propely cared for it's as bulletproof as a OM616 engine.

The number one issue with all Jags is getting proper and timely service by a technician that knows the marque. Otherwise, ugly issues start to come up.

The v12 can't tolerate fuel leaks, secondary ignition neglect and overheating. If the owner pays attention to those three issues, a Jaguar v12 is one of the most robust engines ever produced.

Most Americans that bought a Jag v12, drove and serviced them like an American car, then complained when they caught fire or dropped a valve seat when they overheated.
