So I'm going to the local swap meet with my parents in the morning and as we were driving past cars parked on the side of the road while looking for parking, I unfortunately saw this and had to get a picture....

Now....if you want a Camry that bad, then sell the Mercedes and go get yourself a 91 Camry for like 900$.... I can see when people put Mercedes emblems on the Toyotas and such but to put Toyota logos on a Mercedes is just horrible..... I just don't understand people sometimes, let me go put Honda emblems on a Porsche or BMW...

Perhaps it is "making a statement" in some sort of convoluted indiscernible, triple inverse snobbery kind of way....

like,

"It's an elite intellectual High falutin' kinda thang, all y'all stuck up Mercedes Benz peckerwoods just wouldn't geddit" kind of statement, perhaps?

Could be a joke. Plus both old W123s and Camries make pretty good taxicabs.

Even removed the Mercedes Benz hood star (which is like cutting off the cat's whiskers) - and covered up his license plate with a big white card.

Serves him right that the car broke down (unless he only removes the star, puts the card over the license plate, and installs the Toyota insignias WHEN the car breaks down, and he wants to conceal the fact it's a Mecedes Benz, and then puts the Mercedes Benz identification back on when it is runnng again.)

Though I personally doubt that. < laughs >

Maybe it was stolen and he thought the police would think it was a Camry.

You guys misunderstand the poor fellow. He works for Toyota and of course is expected to drive a Toyota to and from work. Being a Benz owner, he had trouble bringing himself to do this until he hit upon a solution....

Theres always an older nissan parked at a local gas station with 500SEL emblems on it. They didnt bother to take the Nissan emblem off so its a Nissan 500SEL.
