I'm going to install the camera/dvr system in both cars. It would be nice to not only write live feed video to the DVR, but transmit the video over the internet to a personal injury law firm. That way, they can begin work on the lawsuit before the wheels stop on the car.

I'm tired of these texters, they think of one thing and one thing only...THEMSELVES.

There seems to be a wide variety of options at various costs.

Please post what you install and how it works out for you.

I need to do the same thing.

will do, I noticed quite a few different models on both amazon and ebay. I want something that is durable and records in high quality video.

Perhaps I could start my own cable television show.....

I took a quick look...........some go for $30.............some go for $200. There must be a significant difference.

How to get the data off the unit would also be of interest.

These F'n DB's are everywhere now...........it's impossible to drive 30 miles without getting involved with at least one of them..............

Driver sent or got 11 texts in 11 min before crash - Yahoo! News

Quote:

Investigators also found significant problems with the brakes of both school buses involved in the accident. A third school bus sent to a hospital after the accident to pick up students crashed in the hospital parking lot when that bus' brakes failed.

However, the brake problems didn't cause or contribute to the severity of the accident, investigators said.
Yes, I know, :deadhorse: , but what am I missing? Take the pickup out of the scenario and the first bus still slams into the tractor and the second bus still slams into the first bus. Why is this still about texting

[edit] Maybe CERN's Higgs boson experiments are messing up my limited understanding of Newtonian physics. Piano is falling on sidewalk. Sixto, while texting, carelessly walks under the falling piano. Sixto is crushed by the piano (mobile phone survives to kill again). Sixto is responsible for the piano falling on the sidewalk.

At one of the manufacturing plants I worked at, there was a ban on cellphone use or computer use (laptops) while walking in the plant. I work at a differenent plant now, same company. There is no ban. Its anoying to have to get out of the way of people focused on texting. These aren't teenagers either.
I have rarely used a cell phone while driving. Probably a handfull of times.

They have taken all the fun out of driving. You now feel like you are involved in road warfare and have to figure out the best way to arrive at your destination alive and in one piece.

This is one of many reasons I am in favor of high speed trains as a means of transportation. Or, fully automated cars which drive themselves via GPS and/or sensors embedded in the road bed. This would take the stupid factor out of it.

Who has? There are still numerous manual transmission cars, where you can turn off the ESP/ESC, and have as much "fun" as you like . . . although you might be ECU limited to 155 mph. ;)

Absolutely correct. I took the ferry home like I typically do to avoid the NYC traffic and the absolute worst of the DB's.

But, I couldn't go the last 15 miles from the ferry to my house without getting involved with another DB. Apparently, this DB thinks that I must accelerate the SD to maintain a 15' following distance when the light turns green...........otherwise he's not happy. And, what does the DB do? He turns on his high beams to let me know that I'm not accelerating fast enough and keeping a short enough following distance.

Fully automated cars would be a panacea. Anything to avoid the stupidity of the majority who must get to the next red light faster than you.

But as Ron Paul says if you are going to ban phones while driving then you are going to have to ban eating, talking, listening to the radio, etc.

The phones would be a good start.............

...........followed by reading a book...........applying makeup............turning to the rear seat and slapping the kids around..............rummaging through a briefcase..............

..............then we can switch to facing the passenger and talking............

Maybe we could just pass some legislation stating that DB's aren't allowed to drive. That would eliminate one-half the vehicles on the road.

Imagine how many traffic problems that would solve :D
