Do any of you have a story about a car you bought that you thought would be a simple fix and turned into way more? Or the previous owner left himself out of the equation and "Didn't know anything"? In my signature the 85 300D we had, the kid who had owned it before us ran the oil completely out.

Along a similar vein, the previous owner of my wagon thought black RTV was a cure-all for everything.

Swollen heater hoses from oil contamination: cover it with black RTV
Loose sway bar bushings: cover them with black RTV
Leaking a/t cooler hoses: you guessed it black RTV
