Facial Recognition: Beating Surveillance Cameras
By NED POTTER | ABC News – 22 hrs ago Big Brother is watching you, though probably not in the ways most of us would imagine. Sure, the cameras at banks or airport checkpoints may be on the lookout for robbers or would-be terrorists, using facial recognition technology to match pictures to existing ones. But private enterprise is busy as well. If you tag a picture of yourself on Facebook or Google's Picasa, that image can be used to identify you in other pictures. Good Post - last month I wandered into a bank branch that I never had been in before. When I hit the door I was greeted with a "Good Morning Mr ". I asked the teller HTH they knew who I was - facial recognition off a transaction at the branch I normaly use.

I faced reality once, and I vowed never to do it again.

Facial recognition was part of Apple's iPhoto software over two years ago, not perfect but pretty accurate. One can only imagine what a super tweaked version could do.

Might be fun to tag my name to photos of Tom Selleck.

Most people would be surprised to see what pops up with the image search under google. I am finding it to be better for information in many cases, less advertising redirection. KV got interesting results.

I just did that with my name. No pics of me, but the first result is of a guy who looks almost exactly like me. It's kind of freaky.
