New toy!!
![]() Beretta 96 Inox. I just put 100 rounds threw it today, and painted a nice group at 70 yards. 40S&W is a nice round for this pistol, the weight of it handles the snappy nature of this round very well. Now I can't wait to put an EFK dragon extended barrel on it for an eventual silencer, and some custom Sword Cutlass grips. ![]()

Nice!
I know what you mean by "snappy" - I've a Glock 22 in .40 S&W - takes some doing at times to get the beast to do your bidding. How does it compare to a Glock in the same caliber - easier to control?

Very nice! Welcome to the Beretta family! I love my 92FS Inox, it fits my large hands perfectly, and is a pleasure to shoot.

.40S&W is a snappy round, the recoil is very different from even .45. Never cared for it much until now, but I have only shot light weight compact and sub compact polymer pistols chambered in it. Most of those are simply overpowered by it, and like you said you have to just hold on and kind of hope the rounds land about where you want. The 9mm in the 92 is a very soft shooting pistol, having shot both I really like the 96. This design is not light so why not put the weight to good use? Its mass keeps the snap of the .40 well under control. I was very pleasantly surprised today with the accuracy I was able to get out of it shooting very piss poor unevenly loaded Winchester white box ammo. With real ammo I think I can get the groups to tighten right up. I think with real ammo and probably that EFK barrel this pistol could easily engage targets at 100 yards, if not further.

Also whats going on with Winchester? I have shot literally tens of thousands of white box rounds in all calibers and I have always found it to be cheap, but pretty good ammo.
This box sucked, you could hear the different loading of the rounds when they went off. Also the accuracy was all over the place with some of them. I had fliers like you wouldn't beleive. Its not the pistol, with some Hornady critical defense rounds it was like a laser gun, but those are $1 each... ![]() ![]()

Couple years ago when I was living and working in San Antonio, I picked up a Stoeger 20 gauge SXS as a knockabout gun to do some dovehunting with. With cheap Remington Game Loads, I'd get close to a dozen misfires out of a box - on the shotgun forums, people with other makes of guns had the same complaint, word was that Remington was using cheap hard primers in their lower end shells. But with Winchester shells, even the bargain basement ones, nary a problem. Same with the higher end ($15/box) Remington Express shells. As good as their shotgun ammo is, kinda surprising that thier pistol ammo sucks.

I like your Beretta but I am especially fond of your marksmanship commitment, posers would not fathom shooting a pistol 70 yards. Keep up the good work.

70-100 yards is perfectly doable with any full size pistol shooting a full power round. Its also a ton of fun.
