State of the Union 2012

It's about to start...

I expect much of the same from the last couple years. I am constantly distracted by Brit Hume and Charles Krauthammer flapping and babbling at each other

Would you say the same thing if a Republican was in the oval office?

Trade Enforcement Unit

Looks like "poof" another police force for the Feds. The last thing we need is another agency.

How many units or agencies have been created since you were born?

Wonder why the judges don't clap.

Hi points -

"Smart regulations to prevent irresponsible behavior" - How's the war on drugs working out?

"Order every Federal Agency to eliminate rules that don't make sense"

Establish a Financial Crimes Unit? Another agency?

Remeber a couple years back? He basically insulted the entire SCOTUS to their faces, criticizing one or two of their decisions. During the standing applause that followed, you could see the Chief Justice, with a sour look on his face, mouthing the words "not true".

After that little slap in the face, it's probably just out of a sense of decorum and tradition that they still even bother to attend.

"Irresponsible behavior" - that covers a lot of territory - sounds like code words for "government enforced social engineering".

If they eliminated the rules that didn't make sense, what was left would fit in a flea's navel, with room left over for the Grand Canyon, half of downtown NYC, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Yeah, I bet THEIR idea of a "financial crime" will be if I didn't have enough withholding from my paycheck and owe them more than 50 cents on April 15th.

yep

I will say Biden did a good job agreeing with him. Who was the bald headed general that looked like Steve Wilco?
