There's a topic on this in the diesel section - "Check out this roof rack" thread. Nice car, love the color combo. I wouldn't pay close to 20k for it though, not even half that.

Man, I love everything about that car. The rack is the icing on the cake. IF I were in the position to drop $20ish on another car, I'd probably be foolish enough to enter the fray.

Lacking a turbo, high altitude buyers will be deterred.

That looks like $20K worth of car to me. I would lose the whitewalls, though.

I am thinking more like $8,000-$9,000 maybe. Beautiful car but not anywhere near $20,000..

You're probably right, but where else are you going to get a car like that for $20,000? It's like having a time machine. The one I would want would be a Euro-spec 300D sedan with a turbo, AC, and a manual transmission. I would pay $20,000 for that car all day long if it was in the condition shown in those photos.

How can you tell that it's a dash cap? You sure it's not a whole new dash? You raise a good point, though. No way to judge the car's value from those photos. If it's as good as it looks from a distance and if a buyer really wants that type of car, then I would not quibble with the $21K price. The OM617 is a piece of history, IMHO. Probably couldn't re-sell it for that, but if that's what you want and you can afford it, why not? If I had extra cash and found a W123 sedan in that condition, with turbo, AC, manual HVAC controls, a stick, and a stellar maintenance history, I would pay $21K all day long. The 121,000 on the odometer wouldn't bother me a bit.
