BTW, my comment went toward the claims of interrupting women's rights. The women's rights as you call them, obviously trump the rights of the defenseless unborn babies that are being murdered on a daily basis by the organization under discussion.

Okay, end of debate, thank you all for coming.

The defunding has virtually nothing to do with women's rights; it does have to do with low income access to healthcare being reduced by the decision, however the backlash against SGK has taken care of the money issue.

I think the real issue is whether a private organization, like SGK, understands that there will be a result when it takes a highly charged politically sensitive position. SGK can do what it likes with its donor's funds, but I think they didn't do it the right way.

Why not simultaneously fund some other organization that provides breast cancer screening to low income women?

I don't think anyone will say that PP's accounting system or delivery of services has been perfect or without some need for further auditing, however they do provide services other than termination of pregnacies to low income women and families.

So why don't you support the law if you're such a great fan of law and order?

SGK has been getting a decent amount from this family for years. I'm glad to see that they want to distance themselves from an organization such as PPH.

Why do you think they jumped into bed with PP in the first place? As recently as last month, an SGK California official called the relationship with PP an essential and beneficial relationship for women's health.

I hope that more women are not placed at risk due to Komens actions. If that turns out to be the case, I think it could spell serious trouble for Komen and their credibility.

That's not entirely accurate. In many (all?) states an assailant maybe charged with feticide if he causes a mother to spontaneously abort or kills the baby in utero.

Is Komen a private agency? Is Planned Parenthood?
