You guys have me cackling out loud here.....thank goodness the Lovely Mrs. is not asleep yet!

I knew I was asking for this when I posted about having squirrels in my attic but just could not resist because I knew I would also get some good answers.

Gotta remember to check the trap in the morning.....can't leave a dead coon hanging around on the trap tether in the morning.

I live next to a 40 acre field along side a river. Tell me about critters ! I've caught snakes, raccoons, Norway rats, birds, and dozens of mice here. I have rat bait hidden in places the dog can't get to and check it every week. Poison granules under the benches and in the office.

I have two black rat snakes in the workshop but I let them have run of the place...mostly up on the parts shelves on the mezzanine.

Had no mice for 4 months now. Last problem to fix is the skunk who goes walkabout at 10:30 every evening. I got a 22 coming for him!

Here's a few ideas to stop critters climbing...Rodent-proof construction and exclusion methods

When I was a kid my grandfather and uncle swore to me that if I could get a clean head shot on a skunk with my .22 it wouldn't spray, but if I shot it anywhere else, look out. I practiced for hours shooting at little skunk targets I drew and stuck here and there around the place. They had a good laugh on me when I finally got a clean head shot from about 10 feet away and that critter unloaded himself.

I checked the trap this morning....nothing.

The animal guy says any animal he traps he likes to kill because if they come back they are nigh onto impossible to catch the second time.

Okay guys, I think I need to send this thread to my boss. He has battled racoons and squirrels in his attic for years.

Maybe just the pics.

I had some squirrels in our attic last winter, but trimming the trees and getting a new roof this past summer seem to have solved the issue.
