Anyone notice that Fridays seem to bring out the worst drivers? Ran a few errands this AM, and was honked at twice. I was traveling about 30 MPH when a very small car looked as though it was going to pull out in front of the 560. I gave a light tap on the horn, he honked back as if p***ed off.

Then, coming back the same road, came to an intersection and signaled to turn left. There is no left turn lane at this particular intersection. The driver directly facing me didn't have his turn signal on and wasn't moving so I stopped until he made his move. The driver behind me honked. I guess he wanted me to turn in front of oncoming traffic and possibly get into a collision. I came home and decided to stay out of Friday traffic.

I just ignore the impatient. High blood pressure is contagious.

Sounds like a peaceful sunday drive around here

Does anyone else notice that putting on a turn signal to alert drivers you plan to change lanes, compels some drivers to accelerate to eliminate the space? There was about 1/4 mile of space when i signaled my inattention, and a Dodge Ram accelerated so hard that he was on my bumper as I got into the lane. Even if I had not been there, there was no place for the Dodge to go--traffic was pretty dense.

Happens all the time here. If you signal and hesitate just a bit, the DB will try to prevent you from taking that space. If you get the space, the DB flashes his lights to show you that he believes he OWNS that space.

I had one DB who was following the SD at about four feet at 65 mph in the left lane. Apparently, I didn't understand that the DB has a god given right to go 80 mph, despite the fact that the center lane is moving less than 65 mph and I have a perfect right to keep that lane.

It got so bad that I refused to move right even when the center lane became available. The DB finally went right when I reached some traffic ahead that was moving slightly slower than the center lane.

The worst DB's won't let you get onto an expressway from the ramp. The DB will quickly jump into the right lane and try to pass before you can merge. I took one of them to small claims court recently and won $850. to fix the SD when she didn't quite make it past the SD. Of course, her insurance company denied the claim when she stated that it was my fault and I merged into her.

I tell you, it is effectively impossible to go for a drive without encountering a multitude of DB's who believe the road is theirs.

I've got to bring the camera and get some DB photos to post up on here...........make me feel better.

It a contagious disease known as "not in front of me" I found it is a latent and lays dormant until the poor soul that is afflicted with it is exposed to a turn signal.

It's only contagious among the population of DB's. For a normal and proper individual, it isn't contagious.

Of course, the population of DB's grows larger with every passing day.

That's when I enjoy driving the diesel with the ALDA backed all the way out. A good stomp on the pedal will fill their vents with a pleasant smell, while you slowwwwly accelerate to their speed.

That won't work at highway speeds with the turbo spooled..............

This is true...depending how injectors are, it'll smell and smoke a bit regardless. Mine fall slightly into that category, enough to where someone behind will probably notice it after 10 sec

The damn SD is running so clean that it will NEVER smoke. I've been dosing it with Powerservice going on three years...........about 5 oz. per tank.........and the fuel economy in mixed driving has climbed up and stayed at 29 mpg. I admit to keeping the speed at 62-65 mph..........not more.

Time to install the fuel oil pump and nozzles pointing aft. I'd like to do a proper installation in the bumper but cannot easily drill it.

I wish mine were on the same level unfortunately its not going anywhere with a bad transmission at the moment

If it climbs again to 30 (maybe with summer fuel), I'm going to take a shot at 600 miles per tank. I don't believe anybody has ever done it in a first gen 126 or a 123.

Right now, I'm fairly confident it can do 575..........not too confident of the last 25.

I'm so glad that I live 1.5 miles from my shop.
