Many years ago I arranged with a veterinary friend to do a discount-off-the-books neuter job on my then-girlfriend's dog. He was an energetic terrier mix and in exchange for the discount, I scrubbed in to assist. My strongest memory of the procedure was that even though the little guy was anesthetized, when the doc was tugging on his jewels, you could tell the pain/sensitivity was getting through. (My own boys sucked up pretty good while observing -- heck, they're doing a little of that right now just remembering it.)
At any rate, later that night he managed to get one of the stitches out and I called the vet friend. She recommended super glue, which we used. She did caution me to be sure to wear plastic or latex gloves, because I didn't want my fingers glued to...well, you get the idea. ;)
It did the job, though. :P
