I think it is funny that people just know a 'Hot mic' is a mistake. Reagan, after he left office, told how that was never the case when he was President.
Every hot mic instance Reagan was involved in was a set-up. He wanted everyone to know what he was really thinking, so he 'mistakenly' said things when his microphone was on. The most famous was 'the bombing starts in...' which was played around the world as a mistake or a joke. It terrified the Russians who though Reagan was telling them they had one last chance to talk peace or he was finished with them. Reagan was hoping it would have this effect. This hot mic thing has been around since radio was invented. Obama just told his supporters he would get real about this peace stuff after the next election, and the Russkies just verified they want to talk about it, too. Anyone who is upset about Obama's remark would never vote for him anyway, so who cares if they are upset? |

^^ agreed. No way that world leaders are 'accidentally' caught by an open mic in a closed meeting room.
who remembers this little gem?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO53AXUdeV0Bonzo Goes To Washington

One of my favorites was Sarkozy and Obama talking about Netanyahu.
