Dawn of an online series: OPEN ROADS

Hello everyone,
After a long, long Hiatus from my usual blogging and overall PeachParts presence, I am proud to announce the inauguration of our web series, hosted by TylerH860 and yours truly. We will operate from our youtube channel, producing little video "nuggets" and full 15-20minutes episodes. We have shot three episodes in three very different locations across the USA, and we have a LOT of amazing material we need to edit down into a watchable video in a month or two. Many surprises await!

Once again, it would have not been possible if it had not been for PeachParts. This community has brought an amazing bunch of people together, and has been a platform not only to share our automotive rants, but our life experiences. THANK YOU ALL!

Here are some snapshots of what we have shot so far...

Photobucket Album: Open Roads

http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...onsDamange.png

http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...loradoRitz.png

Because the full episodes take so long in post-production, we are going to make a few short videos on a frequent basis, which we call "nuggets". Here is our first nugget, called "Don't Tailgate", starring Tyler and his grandma!

http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...es/Nugget1.png

Click here or in the picture above.

And then, the usual paraphernalia:
-Like us on Facebook...
-Our website is still under construction (www.openroads.tv)

It's been a massive time and money strain, but SO WORTHED so far! In all honesty, I would not be doing anything else. We hope to start pitching material to several TV stations so we can get a little more *ahem* budget to get to a professional level of production. Wish us luck and share Open Roads with your peers!

SwampYankee 04-08-2012 07:20 AM

Someone needs to tell you the 60's are OVER.

We LOST.:(

Signs - YouTube

And the sign said,
"Long-haired freaky people
Need not apply."
So I tucked my hair up under my hat
And I went in to ask him why.
He said, "You look like a fine upstandin' young man.
I think you'll do."
So I took off my hat and said, "Imagine that.
huh , me workin' for you."

Whoa, sign, sign.
Everywhere a sign.
Blockin' out the scen'ry.
Breakin' my mind.
Do this. Don't do that.
Can't you read the sign?

And the sign said,
"Anybody caught trespassin'
Will be shot on sight."
So I jumped on the fence and I yelled at the house,
"Hey! What gives you the right
To put up a fence to keep me out,
But to keep Mother Nature in?
If God was here, he'd tell you to your face,
'Man, you're some kind of sinner.'"

Sign, sign.
Everywhere a sign.
Blockin' out the scenery.
Breakin' my mind.
Do this. Don't do that.
Can't you read the sign?

Now, hey you, Mister, can't you read?
You got to have a shirt and tie to get a seat.
You can't even watch. No, you can't eat.
You ain't supposed to be here.
The sign said, "You've got to have a membership card
To get inside." Uh.

And the sign said, "Everybody welcome.
Come in. Kneel down and pray."
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all,
I didn't have a penny to pay
So I got me a pen and a paper
And I made up my own little sign.
I said, "Thank you, Lord, for thinkin' 'bout me.
I'm alive and doin' fine."

Whoo! Sign, sign.
Everywhere a sign.
Blockin' out the scenery.
Breakin' my mind.
Do this. Don't do that.
Can't you read the sign?

Sign, sign.
Everywhere a sign.
Sign, sign.

About picture #1.

When we suggested you do a segment at a topless bar I don't think you understood what we were saying.

Picture #2.

Looking forward to this segment. "Apparel choices and instruction for the seriously fashion challenged"

Delibes 04-09-2012 01:28 PM

Where is Tyler to comment?

Dee8go 04-09-2012 01:37 PM

I was going to say about that first picture, "It must have been a helluva party!"

That reference went right over my head, but we have realized that we might accidentally brought in the alternative lifestyle demographic with some of our styling choices and behaviors. :D

I'm assuming you mean Miguel, who is standing to the right in the first picture.

Diesel4me 04-09-2012 10:10 PM

I can confim your assumption. Yes, that's him.

He actually wears turtlenecks and that coat in real life.:D The vest I'm wearing along with the shirt belonged to my father. He really thought he was hot stuff on the slopes in the 80s.

Diesel4me 04-10-2012 12:36 AM

Lol both are wearing vests but I'm thinking your vest is tan and you have shades on your head. The man on the far left looks to me like a wanabe Texan.

TylerH860 04-10-2012 10:05 AM

That is his work uniform.

This is an absolutely terrific idea.

If you need someone as an old fat bespectacled storekeeper with a cleft palate, I'll volunteer, as long as I get to wear my red sweater vest! :D

Is that what you look like in real life? I had an image in my mind that you looked like George C. Scott. :D

You can expect Miguel to dress differently, he is originally from Castile, Spain. As a Castellano, he has a distinct type of cosmopolitan, European style which can still be seen there today :)

What a cool old volvo, Where was the third or so off road pic of the burgendy RangeRover shot at--looks like Colorado.

Great job! I could have saved you the money on some 1950s picnic blankets if you had told me, I have lots of them in the closet, including 1950s moths!

Unfortunately, getting commercial-grade music is a huge -and expensive- chore. We were lucky to stumble upon the Surf Zombies, a band of enormous talent from Iowa, to help us with the scoring. I personally had a heck of a great time jamming with the band leader!

Here is a little taste of the animated intro I am working on...

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KUTc5unJPO...600/Tucker.gif

...and yes, I drew the whole thing with the help of a miniature Tucker Torpedo on my table, for reference.
It took several hours, but I think it's quite darn worthed.

Believe it or not, I drew that completely unaware of the Romney story... Tyler let me know afterwards. The dog's name is Dino, and it is a real animal, a somewhat cowardly, very affectionate golden labradoodle. He even has his own facebook profile!
