Circle Cycle engine

Just when you thought every conceivable engine has been tried someone comes up with something different,,,, and extremely weird.

Pretty damn interesting. Those pistons have to have tight clearances into the cylinders yet they completely disengage from each other. I wonder how long it can last without those tolerances getting far enough out of spec to seize up the engine.

With the ability to manufacture in tighter tolerances than ever before, this is only the beginning. Be prepared to see higher RPM and HP numbers than currently.

pretty cool design

If there was only 1 piston/cylinder on each side the piston could remain in the cylinder. I guess they have the piston exit as a way of exhaust & inlet air.
There is no shaft being driven. would need a gear set up on the rotating drum.

With that arrangement it should be a two stroke. Would be hard to control emissions
