Same as down under. Hey Layback40 need your opinion!!
I believe it to be fair to state that a huge proportion of those new, violent criminals in the UK are immigrants and non-whites.

To a large extent the same in Australia. We do have a bit of trouble with biker gang fights & criminal gang problems.
The Chinese (triads) & Vietnamese are also a problem, mainly drug related.
The only way around gun laws in Australia is to join a pistol club.
The storage requirements are over the top though.
I have this unusual habit of waking up in the middle of the night, getting the gun, returning to bed & having it there ~ I must have been cleaning it when the intruder entered the house.

Over here you can forget about the police only being a few minutes away. The emergency call people will keep you on the phone until it all goes quiet & its safe for the police to attend.

It doesnt deter the criminals from having guns & knives though.

I guess they'd be dissapointed to find out I carry a 1911 rather than an AKM, but yeah I have to agree. Never really got into that whole open carry movement, it can completely wipe out any advantage of surprise you may have.

guns are empowering and the powers that be don't want anyone to be empowered, that's how they stay in POWER. they thrive on keeping the people weak, that way the people need the police to take care of them. Dial 911 and WAIT. then pass a plethora of dis-empowering laws that make the use of a gun a crime in almost every situation which results in effectively disarming the people.

All of this results in criminals getting away with murder because they know the people are disarmed. As a result of the increase in crime, the idiots scream to hire more cops like that is going to solve the problem. meanwhile, the cops are more interested in writing traffic tickets (makes the cities a LOT more $$$$) than answering 911 calls. stupidity rules.
