Did you know that CC companies call people like yourself and I DEADBEATS because we pay our balance in full every month?

They could call me whatever they want. I still use their money for free, not to mention all the free miles flying back to Europe every year
If they are not happy I would give them the card back.

I don't own a single dime to anyone, everything I own is paid for.

Same here, and same philosophy. Many times I've given thanks for inheriting my paternal grandmother's Scottish thrift.

Credit cards are the invention of the Devil. Of course I must have a debit card for internet purchases and such but nothing beats ready cash, at least in my world.

Funny thing about credit cards....Flew out to Cali to view a car I eventually bought. Got off the plane, went to a leading car rental agency and asked for a car. {I know..shoulda made arrangements ahead of time, too busy at the time} Fellow wanted to see a credit card, debit card wan't acceptable. Told him I had a driver's license and a wad O' cash, made no difference so I didn't get angry, just left rather than engage in a pointless debate with a drone carrying out company policy.

Walked a couple of blocks, went into a Bodega, ordered a cafe' con leche and asked aloud in my best spanish if anybody wanted to make some money driving me 'bout 20 miles to and fro, to the antique car dealer.....and hanging out while I did my business, then back to the airport.

3 guys volunteered, I picked the guy with a beat up Golf VW. Took about 4 hours total. Gave him $75 bucks and bought him lunch.

That is a great story.

There are a select few car rental companies that will rent with a cash deposit or a hold on a debit card but many only take credit cards.

I am another CC DEADBEAT.
we put everything on the card ~ $3k to $5k a month. $25k limit.
Always pay on or before the due date.
Only ever missed it once ~ never got the bill & it cost about $20 in fees.
Loyalty/frequent flyer points are handy.
The CC we use is through a bank that we dont have any other account with. They cant play games with other accounts.
