What does the Government Owe YOU?
Since I am under a microscope by a few members trying to catch me on anything they can and trying to provoke me into receiving an infraction, I will no longer be copying anything, posting links or anything like that.
This means that I will write things in my own words for you guys to parse and spin, so there are some of you that will really enjoy piling on. I will put EVERYTHING in my own words and YOU will have to do your own googling if you're interested in the subject. So... what do you think that the government owes YOU? Harrison Schultz, an Occupy Wall Street person, said that the government should provide him healthcare, food, housing, a car and a job. He has no professional experience of any kind, and although he does have a graduate degree, he says he will not take a job for less than $80K/year. Do you think that YOU deserve a house, a car and healthcare all for nothing from the government? And do you think that your first job should pay $80K per year with no previous experience? |
The gov't owes me my ****ing privacy back.

The media is desperate to discredit those out there doing the occupying, I'm glad someone is bringing to public notice that the banks were the main cause of the 2008 GFC. 15 trillion dollars wiped from the world, 20 million jobs lost, and untold suffering to countless numbers of people all over the world. I support the young people of America, perhaps there'll be a future that doesn't revolve around greed. Quote:

What he said! But in all seriousness I would like the $100K or so I have had stolen from me in the form of SS returned............ |
The government doesn't owe me anything except the SS I have been paying in all my life. And if only the people that payed into the system were the only ones getting it, there would be no problem. I think the government should help people with mental or physical problem that prevent them from working. I don't think anyone is entitled to anything if they don't first put into the system. In other words, NO the government does not owe me a car, a house, a job or anything else. That puts me in the minority and when the minority has to support the majority, the system fails, and we are there now.

A former US President said, " Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country."
Start by being a productive member of society, and not a drain on all your neighbors. Don't have a job? Invent one. Can't be done everywhere, but it can be done here. |
Id like some of the money taken from me and redistributed to the top 1% and corporations in the.form of tax breaks and subsides. The redistribution of wealth upward needs to stop. The rich have received enough of.my money.

This government owes me Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
After that I am on my own. But if any government can come up with a way to take my tax dollars and turn them into a way of building roads and fighting fires, both of which I have done on my own, then I am all for letting them do it. By the way... The road I helped to build is still in use. It is a private road and is maintained by the people that live on along it. The fire department I helped to set-up sort of fell into a mismanaged bunch of folks over the past few years. Last year a wildfire swept through my old neighborhood and my previous home burned to the ground along with a few others. By the time the government showed up to help with airborne water tankers it was too late, but then that help had to be requested by our Governor and she was busy going through her 'We don't need no stinking Federal Government help with anything' phase. Thankfully that mood has passed. We had a wind through here of about 60 mph on Tuesday and on Wednesday she declared our county a disaster area. Some things the government can manage better than the private sector, but without the private citizen keeping an eye on government how can we be sure they are doing a better job than we could do ourselves? |

Feel free to PM/email me what you want posted in this regard & I will do it for you. Its sad when there are those who preach "Do as I say, not what I do". I to have suffered at the hands of the PP mafia in the past. I thought it was under control at the moment, but it sounds like they are up to their old tricks again. |

So I asked each of them what they had that could contribute to a business. One had a pick-up and one had three lawnmowers. That afternoon they were in the lawn care business. Another fellow I know started volunteering for several groups while he looked for a job. When he let everyone know he was out of work someone in one of the groups offered him one. They had seen him work and knew he could get things done. One can be down, but as long as your health holds out you are never out. |

Hey Larry,
You're still number one in my book. Period ! What the USG owes me: Very simple: What the US Consitution guarantees me (and all Americans): The Bill of Rights, Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Property, and all that mumbo jumbo. Too bad the politicians have slowly but surely taken much of that from us. Too bad Ron Pual will not be elected. |
