I was in Construction Material Testing. We needed a couple of books and a calculator. I could always tell the fire code people--they had a library and a hand truck to carry it!

yea it used to be you could practically take a crate of books in. they have changed it all up now. your only allowed certain books based on the level you are testing for. they have to be the exact book, the exact year, and they check them for writing. no notes or calculators are allowed in either. the real pisser is, they ask all kinds of questions out of code books that are not allowed in the test. overall i would say i got in the 90% area on the test. i hope to have my level 2 by july.
