So my kid brings home his report card. They take these tests at school nowadays I guess. Turns out his reading and comprehension tests out at the 70th percentile Freshman level and his Math scores are slightly above the 50th percentile for for 6th grade. Kicker is he just got done with 2nd grade. So technically he can go to middle school now and be fine academically.

I'm damn proud of him. I also realize that I'm not equipped for a kid like this. Guess this explains his damn behavior.

Very nice. I remember back in those days I was reading at the 10th grade level as a third grader. Time flies. Math was was not that high of course.

Whats kills me is we take the high school exit exam our Sophomore year, which basically indicates we are smart enough to leave right?

Do you happen to know what tests he was given? Assuming he's bright, keep in mind that an idle mind is the devil's playground and remember, smart kids have all the answers, gifted kids have all the questions.
