My next MB...

I know EXACTLY what I'm going to get next when I do get back into the Mercedes game. I have looked a bunch of newer ones, and I keep coming back to the same car:

It has to be an S class, because once you go S you can never go back!:D:cool:

Its going to be a:
2010 or newer S600. I want blue with a black interior, no other color.

I'm going to add a Renntech:
R1 upgrade to bring power up to 635HP/780TQ.
Renntech V3 lowering module, cause I want Justin low.:D:cool:
Brabus wheels, 20's all around.
Dark tints or course.
Complete de badge.
Rader/laser detector/jammer and full countermeasures.;):D

Now do I want the carbon fiber Renntech engine cover?:D

Oh and the limiter, that's got to go of course...not that I would ever drive that fast...

Why not a S65 for that extra umpff?

Hatterasguy 06-29-2012 11:42 PM

To much money, late model S65's do have a bit of resale.

That car fits you to a tee Hatti:). I have a couple people with them that I help out on occasion and I think they are (2007+) probably the best car out there. With that said parts for them are expensive.

They are very impressive when you nail it at 80 mpg:eek:.

Actually don't they tend to depriciate like a stone?

The AMG models seem to be doing better than the non-AMG models, but my eternal daily 5 minute scan on CL and Autotrader reveals that all AMG models hold up better than non-AMG models. Which makes perfect sense to me.

I personally would like to get a C63 or E63, or even a CLS63, but I am worried about a major issue regarding that engine that popped up on MBWorld:

M156 cylinder head sealing concerns - MBWorld.org Forums

Apparently, Mercedes-Benz/AMG used weak head
bolts in a large range of engines. (M157? is the engine code)

The M113K even has a fueling problem at cylinder 8 which can cause it to go fairly lean and destroy it's compression, but I think it only really affect cars that have had the boost pressure from the supercharger increased via a smaller pulley. This company has a page with a fix that also explains the issue a bit more. http://www.fabtech-performance.com/AMG_Performance.html

They do but late model W221's are right up their. You have to buy them a bit older to get in on that depreciation curve.

The M113k cylinder 8 problem only rears its head when you start tweaking with boost... But they make kits to remedy it!

As for the 63 - they also have problems where they eat lifters/camshafts... Look it up on mb world, theres a class action suit being filed for it.

IMO, the coilpacks are the weakest links on the V12TTs. The rest of it is pretty damn bulletproof.

iwrock 06-30-2012 07:41 PM

Oh, and youll never have my kind of low.

Trust me, youll get tired of break s h it!

Hatterasguy 07-01-2012 09:51 AM

On the engine, yes. On the entire car, the ABC suspension is the weakest link.

Hatterasguy 07-02-2012 09:12 PM

Meh who cares, cheaper than a boat.:D

I see you are not familiar with the S600.
