Go to a pharmacy and buy a bottle of pharmaceutical grade boric acid. Put a couple teaspoons of the powder into a cup and add about a quarter of a cup of something sticky and sweet like corn or pancake syrup. Mix will. Lay down an unfolded sheet of newspaper on the ground where you have seen the most roaches and drizzle the goo all over it. Leave it over night or over a couple of nights. The buggers will come out in the dark and feed on that stuff like crazy. It'll kill all of them, but you won't see them as they don't die right away. Fold up the paper and toss it. Repeat at weekly intervals for a month or so to get all the newly hatched bugs. Easy, almost free, no residual poisons and as effective as any exterminator. They'll come back, but they'll come back no matter what you do as long as there's an attractively dark, damp environment for them. When they do, repeat the process.

Do you think that would be effective also if I put it outside too?? I've only seen a couple this week in the house but if you step outside for three minutes you'll see many of them. What gets me is that I was sitting right there talking to my buddy and these guys didn't even care I was there. I have laid some of those little black bait deals all over the house.

Yup. That's where I use it. We don't have them in the house but they get pretty thick on the patio. They seem to live under the mulch in the flower beds that surround the patio. I drizzle it around on the low wall that borders the beds and the very next night I can go out and not see a single roach. Most of the baits are borate based too, but you're paying extra for a dilute product and gimmicky container. An 8 oz bottle of pharmacy grade boric acid might cost you 12 bucks but will last 3 or more seasons. Boric acid is pretty safe. It has a very high LD50. Your dog will be attracted to the sweet stuff so it's best to put it on newspaper or a paper plate or something so you can take it up in the morning. Still, not nearly as dangerous as poisons. I use it in my poultry pens too.

How do you get rid of bedbugs? We never seen one in our lives until our daughter brought them back from Louisville. We can't seem to get rid of them. We have had the exterminator our several times.

your best bet is a high heat system to kill them. chemicals wont take care of them at all. they make a special system... they are like roaches. will survive until oblivion
