Age census on forum

Just curious as to the ratio of ages from the members on this forum. What kind of people keep this great cars running?

I am 26, bought my first Mercedes diesel this past January to offset the fuel cost from diving my truck everyday. Now I have 3 diesel vehicles. If only my Harley was diesel powered.

Two kinds:

Young people who have rich parents.

Old people who have more money than sense.

If you really want an age breakdown, post a poll. Although I think it may have already been done at some point.

There are young people who pay their own bills.

I know. Mine do. All three put themselves through college and grad school debt free and haven't cost me a penny past age 18.

What is your definition of "young"?

I paid $750 for my 240. It had ZERO brakes, and the master cylinder had a leaking secondary.
I put on new cheap rotors, top dollar napa brake pads, new master cylinder, changed all fluids and filters, then put around 3,000 miles on it before the tires started coming apart. Need new tires and some front end work. I miss driving the thing. For the shape it is in, it is pretty dang reliable.

There's a third kind: Old people that have more sense than money. If you do your own wrenching you can keep this obsession we have with old Mercedes relativly inexpensive. As compared to other hobbies.

I am the 4th kind then. I want to make power out of my 240. Someday I will tear down the engine and build it- turbo'd. I also have this crazy idea of pulling the engine and putting it into a VW beetle.

And me, aged in between the young 'uns and the old farts with more kids than money. Which might be the worst combo. No money and no time! I have no sense either, but that's unrelated.
