Something I've Learned Over the Years

I've learned that people tend to believe that everyone else is like themselves. The baseline for a dishonest person is dishonesty, so they believe that everyone else is dishonest. Since they tell lies themselves, they find it hard to believe that others are telling the truth.

By the same token, honest people tend to believe that everyone else is honest.

In over 12 years of reading and posting on this forum, I can't remember ever disbelieving anyone. I have disagreed a LOT, but I don't remember ever disbelieving.

I've learned that no one here is worth the blood pressure spike.

I have no blood pressure problem. In fact I take no medicine, in great health and pretty darn good physical condition for my age, but I do get your message and thank you for it.

Now, if you'd finally learn to be skeptical of fowarded emails . . .

I typically give people the benefit of the doubt but also follow the ol' Bush rule

Once you learn that, you begin to look for it; when you see it, you avoid it. Makes life a lot easier.

I've learned that the internets isn't real.

I've met a good many folk from here in real life and they act a lot different in-person (except for Aklim ).

well, it seems that in all your years, you should have learned more than that, and thats pretty simpleminded also.

Some things you clearly haven't learned are-

A. How to enjoy a calm rational discussion like an adult
B. How to explain yourself consistently, and how to back up an argument when it is totally at odds with everything else you've ever said.
C. How to cite evidence and provide supporting date
D. How to fully read or understand what other people say to you and respond appropriately
E. How to maintain or at least appear as if you have the maturity and dignity of someone of your age

as usual.

Now, im not going to pretend that this ridiculous thread is'nt because I challenged your interestingly questionable anecdote in another thread, and that put your panties in a bunch. Why don't you go back to that thread, respond like an adult and a man of your age should, describe the situation which surrounded your anecdote, and make us all believers. That would be a nice change of pace from all this noise. At that point, if it becomes clear that the implication that the anecdote didn't happen was incorrect, you will receive an apology for implying so. Ill be back in a week to check to see if you surprise me.

I have learned not to be hasty in buying anything, or forming an opinion.
I have learned not to judge motives; only actions. (Istill sometimes try to judge motives--I am usually wrong)

One would hope that there was at least learning opportunity by being "banned" multiple times.

One other thing I have learned in life that YOU need to work on is not making unsubstantiated accusations and RUDE DIRECT INSULTS.

When YOU apologize to me for the DIRECT INSULT, I will write a lengthy and much more well framed explanation of what happened.

Until the time that YOU act like an adult and WITHDRAW your DIRECT INSULT, you will NOT bully me into anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
