Small bugs from Triassic period found in amber...

Pretty cool...100 millions years older than any bugs found prior.

I remember the Smithsonian Magazine having an article in the 1990's about bugs trapped in amber, and how the possibility of using them to bring back extinct animals isn't too far off. Of course, the story followed the release of Jurassic Park...

I read about them this morning. 143,000,000 years old.

It's pretty cool how they were preserved in amber and not crushed in mud. This allows them to be viewed as they really were...not squashed flat.
