That car could of been less issues then any Mercedes... You never really know what you are getting into. My shop we do not hear much complaining or issues with newer Maserati's- 2006 and up. Maserati builds them a heck of alot better then in the 80's. Now those fell apart in 2 years.

Don't lose heart.

Think outside the box, and your personal comfort zone for a minute.....

You need to go to Los Angeles, specifically Newport Beach, and Beverly Hills, where the many multi millionaire rich folks live, and buy new ones. They have dealers too for the new AND used ones. As a one time visitor, chances are you will find them ready to "blow one out", ie, get rid of it cheap right then, if it is a mint used one they have that has not sold for a while. It WILL work because you are a serious buyer from far away, and they will have only ONE chance to sell to you.. and they KNOW that, especially if you remind them.

That is exactly how I got my 560SEC, at a Mercedes Benz dealer near Disneyland 9The House of Imports in Buena Park @ the 5 and the 91 in Orange County back in 1996).

Fly in, drive home. Or trade something you have now, down there, in for wholesale KBB and nab the car of your dreams, whatever it is..

The inventory in Northern California is a JOKE compared to what is available in So Cal.

They take care of them, Los Angeles is ground zero for car culture.
The people love those cars and take care of them, the weather is mild down there so most stay in really great shape.

And the fact that there are so many (if you don't believe me, spend a half an hour on Rodeo Drive @ Wilshire, in BH, or near the Town Center on Ventura Blvd in Encino, and you will understand what I am saying,,,,is peoof that they are all over the damn place down there.

The high end cars TRULY are all over the place. For example: A special dealer in Woodland Hills called "the Auto Gallery" is a great place to look at and buy all manner of lightly used Ferraris, Bentleys, Rolls Royces, Mazers, ect. It is like a modern exotics car "candy store". It is up on the Hill off the 101 towards Calabassas..... they have a 2nd showroom on Ventura Blvd, I think I saw it down on the North side of Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills....

The attention span of the multi millionaires is really short down there, they get easily bored, and trade for something newer, faster, more expensive all the time. Plus, a woman from Newport Beach said in that culture the people like that are constantly buying cars to "one-up" their friends, to prove that THEY can have the newest, most expensive and fast ones, and routinely cast off perfectly good cars to show off one even newer (and they think, better) to IMPRESS thye 0other multi millionaires. To some of these rich and bored peole, all it is ... is just a game..

Dont waste any more time in Sacramento or Nor Cal.

And, the good ones are all over the place in LA.

So that makes the used exotics cheaper too!! And more to choose, and different colors and options, even when near new.

Simple matter of supply and demand.

Spend your weekend. You can go this weekend, and be low riding a week from today, if your finances are ok, and you can nab the one you want.

Ok, something German has now caught my eye....

Its RWD and has two doors. And 6 speed MANUAL. Can anyone guess what I am after?

Once again, probed Hatty for his thoughts on this, so he isn't allowed to participate.

Ah the joys of being vague....

OK I'm going with a Porsche then. Potentially a Caymen but a 911 of some sort seems more your style.

Well, is it one of these?

I took this pic at the BMW museum in July when I was there this year.

I love Italian cars, my next car will probably not be a MB, but a 575M or a 355.

Reliability, and all that jazz, yeah that's what a Camry is for. Life's to short to own boring cars.

Agreed.

Im thinking a 355 would be a better car for you. Well, it would get you laid more often than the 575.
