Crazy Alarm System

Here's how my alarm system seems to work. Know that I just got my 88 190e last week! First Benz too!

When I unlock the drivers door, and then without opening it, I open the trunk, the alarm goes off. I locked the doors but the alarm continued for 2 cycles. One cycle being alarm sounds, flashing lights, alarm sounds.

It seems that the alarm will not go off when I unlock from the passenger side.

How do you deactivate/activate the alarm. It's not the original radio, btw.

Appreciate the help.

It sounds like the switch inside the door isn't deactivating the alarm. What happens when you unlock the door on the passenger side first?

My $.02, just unplug the alarm.

There is a becker unit behind the false floor on the front passengers footwell. Unplug this, and all should be well.
