Not to brag, but...

...tonight's dinner will be 15-bean soup with ham hocks, cornbread and chow-chow.

I've been waiting on cooler weather to arrive to have good comfort food like this.

Ok...I AM bragging!

I know what you mean. Now that the nights are getting below 70, a pot of soup starts to sound good again.

Based on the weather report I think I'm about two weeks away from my first batch of chili verde in many months.

I figure that in another month or so, we'll be ready for huge pots of soup beans.

We've been hitting the soups for the last week...Vegetable last night and broccoli cheese the night prior.

I'm dreaming about pumpkin soup with bacon...we'll probably make that this weekend.

I am "camping" in Gettysburg. Local temps were in the 50s this morning. I know because the heater was running during the night. I really am roughing it--the cable TV has a little snow, and didn't get ESPN, so I was not able to watch last nite's Ravens' game. Roughing it!!

Army has a thread about domestic ventilation. There is a post by him that should answer all Clk's questions about the subject !

jp,
we have just started spring down here, temps in the mid 60's but cold changes every now & again. Hot soup has been the order here for a while.
Going to be a long hot summer here, the guessaholigists are talking about going back into drought. At least all the dams are full though !

Ya viene El Niño. We get swamped, you guys die of thirst. El Niño winters make me work too hard. Soggy, septic pastures, blown out water intakes, leaky barn and loafing shed roofs, hoof rot, pneumonia. Bah.....
On the other hand, some El Niños never materialize here in the SW in spite of elevated sea surface temps, so we'll see. Maybe the westerlies will skip over the SW and dump on Tejas instead. One can hope.
