Okay, maybe MURDER is a more accurate word?

another point-

"The Commanding Officer of MCESG reports to the Commandant of the Marine Corps, exercising command, less operational supervision, of Marines assigned to MSG detachments. MCESG Headquarters is responsible for the screening, training, assignment, administration, logistical support of Marine Corps unique items, and discipline of Marines assigned to MCESG. The Commanding Officer, MCESG also commands those Marines assigned to Headquarters, MCESG, and MCESG regional headquarters, and is the Director, MSG School. MSG School provides suitability screening and formal training for selected Marines to perform duties as MSGs at foreign Service Missions."

The United States Marines in charge of Embassy security are not under the authority of Anne Patterson, but to the Commandant of the Marine Corps. They are not bound to follow any disarmament demand she allegedly made, she is outside the chain of command.

Trying to imagine myself in the position of ANY soldier in such a situation WITHOUT ammo is just too far beyond what I can imagine. It's also about as STUPID as anything that a politician or beaurecrat could do to put someone in such a situation. Why bother wasting a trained soldier that has a Momma, a wife, a son, a daughter? Inconscionable!

NightWatch Report: Marines Guarding U.S. Embassy in Cairo Were Barred From Carrying Live Ammunition | Ambassador Anne Patterson | Video | TheBlaze.com

excerpt-

"Additionally, per Time, the Marine Corps said in a statement late Thursday that any reports “of Marines not being able to have their weapons loaded per direction from the ambassador are not accurate.”
How many marines were at the event?

This is interesting:

Time magazine’s Battleland blog reported Thursday that “senior U.S. officials late Wednesday declined to discuss in detail the security at either Cairo or Benghazi.”

marine corp says otherwise, says statements of being unarmed are "inaccurate". Additionally marines are not under the authority of Anne Patterson, but of Marine headquarters.

Under the State Department Rules of Engagement for Libya, Marines were prohibited from providing security at any U.S. diplomatic installations in Libya, including the embassy in Tripoli and the mission in Benghazi.

The State Department denied a Friday request by Breitbart News to obtain a copy of the State Department Rules of Engagement for Libya, the document that contains the answers to the security arrangements at the Benghazi mission at the time of the September 11, 2012 attack. Later that day, Breitbart News filed a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain the document. Usually, FOIA requests are processed within a month.

The Wall Street Journal confirmed Friday that the Libyan security guards provided by Blue Mountain, the British-Libyan private security firm hired by the State Department to provide security at the American mission in Benghazi, were unarmed:

Most likely a bias source- but no unbiased source(outside the WSJ on that one subject of marines or no marines on location) wishes to touch this story apparently...

In her press briefing on Thursday, State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said the American security presence inside the mission perimeter was "robust." However, she declined to reveal how large that presence was at the time of the attack, whether they were armed and authorized to carry ammunition, and whether they were provided as subcontractors by the British security firm hired to secure Benghazi or if they were independently hired by the State Department.

the two updates from the same article say this-

UPDATE II: The Marines said late Thursday that any reports “of Marines not being able to have their weapons loaded per direction from the ambassador are not accurate.”
UPDATE: “With or without a weapon, Marines are always armed,” Pentagon spokesman George Little said Thursday afternoon. “I’ve heard nothing to suggest they don’t have ammunition.”

and also this-

…reports John McCreary, a former veteran Defense Intelligence Agency analyst. Well, Battleland can’t find those blogs; we’ve asked McCreary for them, and also asked the Marines and State Department to respond to what he is reporting.

Remember, John McCreary is claiming that "USMC Blogs" say this-

[U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson] did not permit US Marine guards to carry live ammunition, according to USMC blogs. Thus she neutralized any US military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy. In this respect, she did not defend US sovereign territory and betrayed her oath of office. She neutered the Marines posted to defend the embassy, trusting the Egyptians over the Marines.

But no one can find them.

That link won't be enough! These guys will want news stories from a dozen different sources, all signed in blood.

They often remind me of a bully at the playground. They draw a line in the sand with their shoe and DARE the bullied kid who has gotten fed up, to step over the line. When the fed up kid actually steps over the line, the bully then puts a chip on his shoulder and DARES the fed up kid to knock it off. The fed up kid knocks it off and then the bully tells him it's lucky for him that he has on his best clothes.
