Opening sentence of the OP specifically addresses the murder of a US Ambassador and I believe that happened in Libya.

naaa, you've been obnoxious throughout. Might as well own it MTU.

Now, do we want to return to the discussion? You will find that we agree that Marines should have been in Libya, and plenty of em.

I have no patience with the idea if farming out embassy security to a foreign private agency. That was a huge mistake

why only? the murder of the ambassador is one part of a much larger reaction worldwide, which includes other parts of the middle east.

I don't recall signing a contract saying we can only discuss facets of the whole, do you?

The main point of the OP is the white house took 9 days to respond with a statement. Can we discuss that? is it ok?

yup, however, I don't believe that the security people were unarmed. I need to wait for more evidence on that apart from articles that detail a number of scenarios

No MTU, using the term "obnoxious" is simply one more way to belittle those with whom one disagrees.

Of course not- but this thread is about Libya and you want to bring up points about things which have peripheral connections to Libya and then act as if that is the subject at hand. People calling you out is obnoxious- and I'll call you or anyone out when sh!+ that holds no water is put out there and they think it's part of the conversation. Get use to people being "obnoxious" when you speak first, think second and do not read about events which you comment on.

relax chief.

We were talking about two different things, as ive said repeatedly already, didn't we identify that a couple pages ago?

as far as obnoxious-

post 28 by you-

"I assumed anyone who posted about the event did a modicum of reading about the event. Sorry to overestimate you. I mentioned "firing blanks" with the thought people understood that they had NO bullets. No one ordered them to not shoot as you post as fact- they were forbid to have bullets in the guns they were issued. Glad you can split hairs but miss the big picture. You and Tom ought to pay Rich C a visit and have a long discussion about current events of which you've not read about. "

instead of this post, you could have said "I was referring specifically to Libya, not to Cairo." That would have been clear, but I guess you wouldn't have been able to try and score as many points in an obnoxious manner.

If you recall, my post that you responded to was in relation to this prior post by larry-

"I guess the only source for you is B.O.'s mainstream media.

I don't care WHERE the shooting takes place, OUR people need to be SHOOTING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"

Which I took to refer to the claims that the Cairo marines were unarmed.
Now that we have rehashed the first 3 pages of the thread to death, we should all be happy.

When the fed up kid actually steps over the line, the bully then puts a chip on his shoulder and DARES the fed up kid to knock it off. The fed up kid knocks it off and then the bully tells him it's lucky for him that he has on his best clothes.
There's some here who draw the line in the sand, then when someone crosses it, they run away.... run away.. run away....

High state of alert means weopons locked and loaded, claymores put in place and ready for action. Does this sound like the state of security at the Libyan embassy?

AGAIN! The blood of these four Americans is on B.O.'s hands!
How are you feeling Larry?
