The blanks I don't buy, but the no marines thing is definitely possible.

At the event itself, could be none were there.
So why did you raise the issue of Marines at all? All that so you could find out from us instead of your own research and you think you have the info to make your view valid
?

Under the State Department Rules of Engagement for Libya, Marines were prohibited from providing security at any U.S. diplomatic installations in Libya, including the embassy in Tripoli and the mission in Benghazi.

I know you are peeking past igone, so ill respond to this.

Im calming discussing with Dudesky and MTU, meanwhile off in the corner is Larry with his head in the sand screaming everyones after him.

Same old crap.

Can you read my posts before replying to them? I said "blanks" because I thought I was speaking with people who are intelligent enough to have done a modicum of research before posting about events. Let's clear it up for you- they did not have blanks- they had NO BULLETS- and "they" are NOT MARINES.

Dwell on this:

“With or without a weapon, Marines are always armed,

Explain how a Marine is armed without a weapon.

Read post 28, then read post 35 since you apparently have a short memory.

again, we were discussing two different things, I think ive pretty clearly demonstrated the blank nonsense as BS, but we agree that Marines may not have been in Libya.

I think that MOST people understood perfectly what you meant when you used the term "blanks."

instead of being obnoxious, you could specify who you are talking about when you say "they". sheesh

The marine guard in Cairo is catching flak for apparently being unarmed, if you weren't talking about that, then you should have specified. Clearly, thats what I was talking about

Please ask Jim B to pay you a compliment, or perhaps a relevant remark from MTI will surface soon.
Tom W could do some study for you also.

this thread is about Libya- but you decided to post a link about Cairo ... ? and now you want to think everyone is talking about Cairo?

What "Alinsky" principle was this? I lost track.

However, congratulations to MTUpower on his self appointment to the position of our newest forum content maven.

You know, MTU, im not sure what you current problem is perpetuating your obnoxiousness. Its pretty clear you were discussing one thing, and I was discussing another. Big deal, its all cleared up now. On one hand, its pretty clear that the Marines in Cairo were probably armed and told to refrain from escalating, and on the other, it seems clear to me that there were no Marines in Libya.

related to this link you posted-
OBAMA ADMIN SENT UNARMED BRITISH FIRM TO PROTECT U.S. MISSION IN BENGHAZI

theres really nothing concrete in there, in fact the article illustrates 3 different scenarios. The only thing that we can agree on is the absence of Marines in the first place, which I agree is and was a mistake. However, based on that link, im by no means convinced that the security detail apart from some of the Libyan elements were unarmed.

This thread is "about" white house response to the situation, not any specific topic. Just another rant from looney larry that provided good conversation once he leaves for his afternoon juicebox.

I'm only obnoxious because you think talking about something else proves your point. Stay on subject and don't talk **** and I'm not obnoxious.
