The new scirocco is about as beautiful as a hatchback can get IMO. As much as I think the regular GTI a looker with nice lines, I wish they brought it here.

Wow. Almost 20 years ago I bought a '79 Scirroco from a VW dealer who was a friend for $500.

It was a starter car for my son. The car needed a clutch and rear struts. The parts were included in the price.

We pulled the engine using 2x4s and ropes to replace the clutch. The struts were replaced using wood blocks and one scissor jack.

A great bonding experience.

If VW can bring back the sports car feel to a FWD car, I'm sure they will have a market.
