Fall foliage 2012

How is the fall color progressing in your area so far? Share photos of the fall color if you have them. I know those in the deep southeastern US, coastal southeast / southern CA/TX will not have much to report on this. lol.

Still low color here in northeast Tennessee. I took these around the house (in extreme northeast Tennessee @ 1495 ft) on Friday afternoon. Not much change from this. I live outside of town in a rural area... for the most part, in town there is even less color and especially in the two cities to my south and west, about 20 miles from here where color is still very low. We still have not even had our first frost yet (which is not unusual, as it is normally in the middle of October) and we are expected to have our first frost on Wednesday night.

I'm hoping to be able to get out and take more pictures this weekend. These were taken on the 6th, roughly 20 miles north east of Pittsburgh. The colors were more vivid yesterday than they were on Saturday.

We're still about a week and a half away from peak color here. Going out this weekend with the kids to take some pics, I'll try to remember to take a few without them.

Sunsets can be nice up here around now

(This is from a prior year, 2009 I think, and the camera was not too hot, but it's stunning to see in this in person every fall).

It is in the Sierra Nevada foothills, about 60 miles northwest of Sacramento, about 3,000 feet up, a town called Grass Valley, ( in western Nevada County ) where I live now.

It is like the sky is God's palette and He is painting very quickly...

a few moments later,

and night begins to fall,

Then in a month or two.....

Well I was out and about in town this evening after work and snapped these. Hoping to see more pics posted here soon from other areas.

Taken from local one of our local Wal-Mart parking lots (the same area that had baseball sized hail in April of 2011) - all of these trees were stripped of their leaves back then.

... and I went walking/exercising after work at the track at a local high school... still alot of green out there.
