Red Dawn is back!

Greatly enjoyed the original in '84, even with poor character development etc. Greatly patriotic tale, if not believable. Don't know how it's going to play with North Korean invaders, but there should be plenty of action and some patriotic moments in it.

Flame away, I don't GAS. Too damn few movies have any love for America and freedom in the story line now days....

Of all the possible movies that could be re-made, my jaw dropped when I saw the trailer for that one.

I agree, Why remake THIS movie? Yes, it had/has a patriotic theme, but that is not enough to carry it, IMO.

For some people "evil furriners" is redundant...

Have you seen some of the movies they have remade?

It's quite a shock at what has been redone.

The lovely and charming ex-Mrs. Leo went to film school with Kevin Reynolds, the writer of (the original) Red Dawn.

Kevin is/was one funny and neat guy. While I was putting the divine Mrs. Leo through school, Kevin and I spent some damn fun time drinking and generally embarrassing our wives.

You might remember "Fandango", Kevin Kostner's first flick. The student version was Reynold's senior project which Spielberg somehow spotted and the rest is history. Yours truly was a gaffer, stunt driver, best boy and talent in the student version. My 15 minutes, I guess.

I wouldn't mind hooking up with Reyonlds again. He was some fun.

Waterworld was better than Red Dawn.

I enjoyed the original Red Dawn and will likely see this one.

This is an action picture, and now the action can be bigger and better in every respect.

As long as you not expecting 'Citizen Kane' then I would think most people would find this film entertaining. As Joe Bob Briggs always said, "Lots of action with no plot to get in the way."

But I recall the Cuban leader growing in the respect that he began to understand that what he had been taught about Americans was not altogether true, so there was some character development; just not a great deal.

I never said it didn't, just that it was better than Red Dawn. I did like the trimaran in Waterworld.
