That would mean he/she/it has to initiate a lawsuit and be present in a court of law. How would we get tickets or passes to view such an event? Would it be PPV?

The KJV is good to understand the politics and religion of the 17th century until the late 20th century.

But other than that... well, it's not very important. The language of the translation is wonderfully crafted, but outdated even in it's day. And the accuracy of the translation often leaves much to be desired.

Well, since William Tyndale most certainly died (strangled to death, then burnt at the stake IIRC), I don't think you'd have anyone to sue. And even if you found a later translator of the Authorised Version still alive the KJV has now become public domain.

I've been searching for about an hour or so, and I can't find a single name on the "translation" committee, a organization or even an editor for this thing.

No listing of manuscripts, manuscript tradition, editors notes, translation techniques, etc. So into the waste bin it goes.

I was at a rainbow gathering years ago where someone had raided motel bibles all the way to the site, and left one at every 5hitter to be used for wiping.
A very considerate thing to do, many people had an extremely positive bible experience... for some it was the first time they really got anything out of the bible, and were able to immediately implement it in their lives.
It was moving.

So you have one claim from a newspaper. "The Editors" will not reveal themselves, nor will they reveal the mass of "scholars" they refer to.

This book remains a blight on humanity, and not just a insult to God, as long as the "Editors" refuse to reveal themselves, their qualification and their methodology.

It's akin to writing a doctrinal dissertation and forgetting to put your name, your references or any other identifying information on your sources. No one would even take a second glance at it, and rightfully so.

... and yet I bet you cannot give me a single objective reason why I should believe the shooter on Friday is any more evil than you.

Just admit that you just found his actions personally distasteful, but they weren't actually wrong.

Unfortunately, it is not as much of a burden to the modern church as it was in times past. For believers, it should be the burden you state it to be. You even got it right by limiting the responsibility "preaching". I would have used different words, as we aren't called to "preach" so much as we are called to be "Ambassadors", or even "witnesses" --basically to tell what we know. That doesn't mean being discourteous, but it does mean we have a responsibility to stand up for what we know to be true.
