I believe you are due a heaping helping of good karma. You've sure paid your dues. I wish good health (for a change) to all of your extended family.

I agree, although DW sure seems like an appropriate blessing for one so involved in the care of others!!

Truly a prince among men.

If I've hit prince status, the value of royal titles must be in the crapper!!!

Ed started with a stomach bug. Or something. Don't know, likely never will. Couldn't keep solids down. Then couldn't keep liquids down. Got zofran, kept him hydrated for a few days. Then couldn't keep anything down, including his meds (and suddenly stopping seizure drugs is bad mojo).

Off to urgent care, very nice young doc there said all he could do was throw more anti-nausea meds at it, really belong in the hospital for scans and IV fluids.

Off to the ER, get through there pretty quickly all things considered. Couple days of bed rest, IV fluids, and bad television later and Ed can eat again so we got to bring him home yesterday. Don't know why, or what changed. Kidney doc came to see him and said it is possible that stomach bug caused dehydration, which caused his already craptastic kidney function to falter even more, which could cause nausea.

As to the value of Darling Wife in terms of blessing - absolute 100% greatest thing that has ever happened to me. No question.

Then again, with no Darling Wife, there'd have been no in-laws to care for

Wouldn't change it for any reason. Life is good, and learning the Darling Wife "it's just an is.... it's what you do. They're family, you take care of them" state of mind (more than a value, more than a belief - as she says - it's just an is) has been a huge change in so many ways, all of them positive.

I wasn't sure which side of the family was which, but really once you make the commitment, there are no more 'sides'... there just 'is'.

All the tribulations seem like a small price to pay for the love of a woman such as DW. I'm glad for you, even when I commiserate.

Best to all, and Happy New Year as well!!!
