Deadly Influenza Pandemic

of 1918. The so called spanish flu pandemic was traced back to a N carolina pig farm. Its also some believe the last blow -inflicting the german army and ending the first world war.
2013 people are dyeing of a un-predicted strain this yr. 18 in Ma at least so far.
Wash your hands folks.

The medical proffession fully expect the emergence of the really serious flu strains again sometime. When this occurs if certain there will be mass news floodings.

Many people expire each and every year from our average flu seasons right along. Kills mostly the very young and very old. I forget the average numbers each year but in the thousands I think.

The flu comes in cycles. This season those over 70 will have ht highest survival rate since, when younger, they were already expose to this strain.

Yup, sounds weird, but sorta makes sense. CBS had an article that explained it well.

I read a couple of days ago nine have died this fall of flue in Indiana. all either under 18 or over 65 in age.

Deaths are in the 10's of thousands annually. And the population is in the hundreds of millions.

10^4/100^6 <= 1%. A public health menace but not a population menace. Compare that to Spanish flu of around 2%.

Not sure what it means, but it's a perspective.
