When I was in the Service for 2 years or so I occasionally Smoked a Pipe; but did not inhale. It never was a habit and after I got Pipe use sort of faded away.

Concerning Cigarettes, when I was a Kid all of the Older Folks that I knew that Smoked all told Me never to start because they could not quite. So I did not.

Also I never hung out with People that would have cause Peerpressure to incorage me to smoke.

I figured the stress of quitting smoking had either affected your sense of time or you were using that there Kentucky math.

The Lozenges helped a lot and had a secondary benefit. When I put the lozenges in my mouth, people wouldn't faint any more when I would talk in their general direction.
