I'm thinking about getting one, mostly because I've nearly been hit twice by police out joy riding in the middle of the night. I say they were joy riding because they ran stoplights without lights or sirens, probably going 70 in 40 zones. I also see a lot of terrible drivers I feel like recording lol

An excellent idea if some jerk runs a red light, clips your car, then claims that he had the green. Not so excellent if you're the jerk and the recording is used against you...

I use an iPhone in a windshield mount. Records two hours at a time. Very clear video and decent sound.
